How we work

Inside a behavioural segmentation assessment

A clear path from first conversation to a written segment brief — so product and analytics leads know what to expect before they commit calendar time.

Built for real application analytics work

We do not arrive with a fixed set of segment names. The process below is how we learn your event trails, pressure-test inherited personas, and leave you with definitions your team can reuse in planning.

Most flagship assessments follow this arc over three to five weeks. Workshops and retention reviews borrow the early steps in a shorter form.

Process

From enquiry to brief

  1. Enquiry and fit

You describe the application, monthly active volume, and the decision segments need to inform. We confirm whether a full assessment, workshop, or retention review is the better fit, then send a scoped fee and proposed dates.

  2. Materials handoff

You share anonymised event samples, a glossary of current events, retention charts you already trust, and themes from support. We schedule workshop slots before dig work begins so calendars do not stretch the timeline.

  3. Behavioural reading

We look for activation moments, return cadence, depth of use, and quiet exit patterns. Provisional groups are drafted against observable criteria — actions and time windows, not demographic guesses.

  4. Working sessions

Two half-day sessions with product and analytics stakeholders test the draft segments, retire labels that cannot be observed, and agree priorities for the next quarter.

  5. Written brief and follow-up

You receive a final segment brief with criteria, approximate sizes from your sample, taxonomy gaps to repair, and a keep / later / leave-alone recommendation for each group. One clarification call is included within fourteen days.

Questions teams ask before booking

Do you need access to our live production systems?

Usually we work with exported event samples, cohort tables, and anonymised session notes you already hold. Live access is optional and only arranged when your security policy allows it.

How long does a typical assessment take?

Most Behavioural Segmentation Assessments run three to five weeks from kickoff to written brief, depending on how quickly your team can share logs and join workshops.

Will you build dashboards or install tracking for us?

No. We interpret the behavioural signals you already collect and recommend how to define and prioritise segments. Implementation stays with your engineers and analysts.

Who should attend the workshops?

Someone who owns product decisions, someone close to the event schema, and ideally a colleague who hears from support or customer success. Three to five people works best.

Do you work only with UK-based teams?

We are based in Birmingham and meet many clients in person across the Midlands and London. Remote engagements are available for teams elsewhere in the United Kingdom and abroad.
